Who doesn't love a kick butt character? And there are PLENTY to choose from in YA lit today. But I have to say that the kick butt heroine will always hold a special place in my heat. There are  a lot to choose from. From Katniss to Katsa and Tris to Rose, YA lit has an abundance of awesome kick butt heroines for your reading pleasure. It's hard for me to focus on just one for this giveaway. But of the many I have read and enjoyed over the past few years (Elisa, Ismae, Evanjalin, June, Alina, and Janelle) one comes to mind more than any other. She's smart. She's brave. She's strong. She's passionate. She's willing to sacrifice it all for her people. Oh, and she's an artist with blue hair.

This has to be one of the most creative series out there today. Love fantasy? It's there. Love romance? It's there. Love action and adventure? You got it. Love amazing, poingant writing? Dude. It is SO there. I was totally enchanted by Daughter of Smoke and Bone. But Days of Blood and Starlight completely mesmerized me. 
I cannot wait to see where this series goes next.
