Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves + Weekly Recap and Forecast

Sunday Post is hosted by Kimba The Caffeinated Book Reviewer
and Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

I have been LAZY and haven't done a mailbox post in two weeks
so here's a look at what has accumulated en mi casa during that time:)

From Around the World ARC Tours:

PhotobucketPhotobucket

Nantucket Blue  by Leila Howard (read my Goodreads review HERE.)
The Rules for Disappearing by Ashley Elston (read my Goodreads review HERE.)

From NetGalley:

Purchased:

(Aww...kitty love:)

Boundless by Cynthia Hand- Read it and will be reviewing the entire four book series soon:)
Epic Fail by Claire LaZebnik- Loved The Trouble with Flirting (read my review HERE) and this was on sale at Amazon for $2.99!
The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead- Found an early copy and am reading it NOW:)

And by Melina Marchetta:

Finnikin of the Rock (read my review HERE.)

I had previously read all of these books (except for Looking for Alibrandi, which I clearly loved, LOOK at all those stickies!) but needed copies for my personal library:)

*Plus I LOVE that Saving Francesca paperback cover because it looks exactly as I imagine Francesca to look. C'mon. That like NEVER happens to me.

Other than The Gorgon in the Gulley, my Melina Marchetta collection is now complete. This makes me VERY happy:)

Now for a recap of what's been happening on the blog.

I reviewed:

  • The Archived by Victoria Schwab- read it HERE
  • Wallbanger by Alice Clayton- read it HERE.
  • Pretty Girl- 13 by Liz Coley- read it HERE.
  • Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys- read it HERE.

  • Dualed by Elsie Chapman- read it HERE

I also had a lot of fun venting in my My Top Ten Most Frustrating Characters, EVER post.  Read it HERE

What's coming up in the future?

Well, I'm definitely going to do another edition of Revelations: The Latest Cover Reveals because there have been A LOT lately.

And I'm steadily working on a discussion post about my larger than life love of secondary characters. Who is making that list for sure? Here's a sampling: Kenji, Thorne, D'Angelo, Angela and Phen, Hassan, Iko, DeMalo and Tiny Cooper. Just to name a few. Yeah. Should be an epic post:)

I'll have some book reviews thrown in as well:)

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! Hope you Northeasterners up there stay warm:) Link me up below and let me know how your week was!

  1. Revenge of the Girl with the Great Personality looks excellent, I keep seeing it on Netgalley and I need to add it to my TBR list! My library has officially lost all its copies of Melina Marchetta's books, but I've heard such good things and they're definitely on my list of books to buy once my self-imposed book-buying ban is over... :)

  2. There are some absolutely fantastic books, Heather! ;))) I am quietly jealous of Blaze. I've requested it ages ago but was refused, and I've been dying to read it for ages.
I'm also looking forward to your reviews of far,Far Away and Notes from Ghost Town - both books are on my wishlist. Have a great weekend, sweetie, and enjoy all your reads!

  3. Notes from Ghost Town sounds amazing, so I hope it's as good as its cover promises! Also, thanks for letting me know that Carson's short story was on Smashwords! It sounds SO good, so I desperately need to read it now. I loved all of Marchetta's novels, including Looking for Alibrandi, but I only own Jellicoe Road. I need to buy LfA and then hunt down the Aussie covers of Finnikin and Froi, along with Saving Francesca. I'm such a cover snob. ;) Fantastic haul, though, Heather! :D

  5. Is that two cats I see? I have two as well. This is a lot of fantastic books. Of course I am desperate for THE INDIGO SPELL, but I'm going to try and wait patiently for the library to give it to me. LOVE that you got several Marchetta books. I can't wait to read and discuss Alibrandi with you. I will have to click over to your reviews on the first two contemporaries listed above. Some of these I don't know about, so I'm excited for you to inform me! I definitely have Rae Carson's series on my radar and plan to read it by the release of book 3!

  11. Holy cow, I didn't know Revenge of the Girl with the Great Personality was on Netgalley! I just rushed over and requested the book. I hope I'm approved. I love Elizabeth Eulberg, and this one in particular looks right up my alley.

Also, I liked Epic Fail. It was a good retelling of Pride and Prejudice.

Enjoy all your goodies. Happy reading :)

I'm reading Finnikin right now with Hannah's (So Obsessed With) read along and am so so glad that I have people to talk about it with--SO GOOD. I love that cover of Saving Francesca too...another book I really need to read. Also excited to read your thoughts on Letters to Ghost Town. Cheers, Heather!
