I got some amazing books this week,
many of them touring ARCS that I am super excited to read:)
Here we go!
- Love in the Time of Global Warming by Franscesca Lia Block- I loved Block's Weetzie Bat stories and am looking froward to reading her latest.
- Canary by Rachele Alpine- This debut author's works features a prep school setting. LOVE.
- Siege and Storm (The Grisha Trilogy #2) by Leigh Bardugo- Oh, My. Goodness. I can't even. So excited to read this book, you guys!
From the gal's at the DAC ARC Tours:
- Persistence of Vision by Liesel K. Hill- It's interesting, but this one is not YA. And I sort of thought the books in this challenge were YA or MG. But no matter, I'm enjoying reading it now:)
And from 132 Minutes and Candlewick Press:
- Quintana of Charyn (The Lumatere Chronicles #3) by Melina Marchetta- I am participating in the US Quintana of Charyn Blog Tour in April so my thanks to the folks over at 132 Minutes (Melina Marchetta's Fan Club) and Candlewick Press for the American ARC edition. Guys, I couldn't wait until the US release and ordered the Aussie version back in September and let me tell you, this book, the final book in the amazing Lumatere Trilogy, is PERFECTION. If you haven't read this series yet you are MISSING OUT.
From Paperback Swap:
- Beige by Cecil Castelluci- This YA is an older release but has MUSIC THEMES. Always a bonus, imo.
And from my wonderful blogger friend who I can't wait to meet in person one day so we can transition to real life friends, Lauren at Love Is Not A Triangle:
- Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi- Read my review HERE.
And LOOK:
Signed!!!
Lauren recently attended the Pitch Dark Days event in Cambridge, Mass and was able to see Mafi, as well as Veronica Rossi, Cynthia Hand, and Brodi Ashton. I KNOW!! (You can check out her wrap up with awesome pics and recap HERE.)
And because she is just the best ever, she got me a copy of Unravel Me and had it dedicated and signed by Mafi:) SQUEE! AND it arrived Valentine's Day, how about that?? And Lauren might have risked life and limb to get to the PO to mail it with that monster Northeast blizzard on the way! She ROCKS.
But what is even more awesome is that Lauren picked this up for me even though I've already read it (a touring ARC copy that I unfortunately couldn't keep) and even though the two of us have VERY different opinions on who Juliette should be with. Lauren is Team Adam and I am Team Warner all the way. How great of a friend is she?? (Pretty DARN GREAT:)
Thank you so much, Lauren. <3 YOU:)
(And yes, I have already re-read Ch. 62. TWICE. :)
I also received for review/ blog tour purposes:
by Kat H. Clayton
I'll be participating in the upcoming Blog Tour of this book hosted by Giselle at Xpresso Book Tours.
My thanks to Ms. Clayton for the e-book:)
And I purchased two books from the Kindle store:
by Veronica Rossi
I read Under the Never Sky last week and LOVED it. I immediately bought this novella which features Roar, another awesome secondary character I have fallen for:)
The verdict? It was great and gave some wonderful insight into these characters:)
Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma
I have been wanting to read this for ages so I finally just broke down and bought it. I know it is touchy subject matter but I cannot wait to give it a look:)

ReplyDeleteSIEGE AND STORM! I cannot WAIT for see what you think! Also, Love in the Time of Global Warming sounds fantastic, so don't hesitate to e-mail me your thoughts on those two when you finish. Or, you know, I'll just stalk you diligently! ;) Roar and Liv is one of the best novellas I've read and I really enjoyed Forbidden, although it's a fairly controversial novel. You are braver than me in reading FORBIDDEN. But I'm very much anticipating your thoughts on it. Have you read Through The Ever NIght yet? It is FANTASTIC. And Roar and Liv really helps connect you to their part of the story. I am so excited that you're reading the series. And I'm eager to discuss Siege and Storm when I get a chance to read it! Make sure you and Asheley save some thoughts for me!!
