Hola! I spent the latter half of my week holed up reading the Unearthly series! More on that below. But some other pretty cool books came my way this week too! Here is the rundown:
From NetGalley I received for review:
Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers
April 2, 2013
Guys, I was SO excited to receive this companion novel to last year's Grave Mercy. My blogger friend Jen and I both requested it months ago and every so often one of us would email the other with status updates. The conversations usually went something like this:
Me: "Heard anything about Dark Triumph yet?"
Jen: "NO. You?"
Me: "Nope. Sigh."
Jen: "Sigh."
And so on and so on. Then on Tuesday of this week Jen emailed that the publisher's sent her the NetGalley widgit to download Dark Triumph and did I get one too? I hadn't. I was sighing and bemoaning my rotten luck and the injustice of it all when my mailbox pinged and my NetGalley widgit arrived too! So, thank you Houghton Mifflin! I take back all those mean thoughts I had about you:)
I also received:
Dare You To by Katie McGarry
May 28, 2013
Stoked to read this companion to last year's Pushing the Limits! Thank you Harelquin Teen!
I also found out that I will be part of the upcoming blog tour for:
None of the Regular Rules by Erin Downing
November 2012.
I featured this book in a cover reveal post last year so I was very excited to see that Giselle over at Xpresso Book Tours was planning a blog tour for it in February. Can't wait to check this one out!
And lastly, I purchased two books for my Kindle:
Hallowed (Unearthly #2) and Radiant (Unearthly #2.5) by Cynthia Hand.
I knew that everyone loved these books. I think I was hesitant because generally speaking angel storylines don't grab me. But I had been hearing an awful lot about this cowboy named Tucker...
So when my friend Lauren spoke so highly of the series I knew I had to give it a shot. WOW. What a idiot I can be sometimes. Should've started this so much sooner. But the upside is that now I only have a few short days to wait until the series finale Boundless is released! I quickly read through the first two books in the series and finished the novella last night. I finally see what all the fuss is about! I can't wait to see how it all ends! Oh and totally Team Tucker, btw:)
Here is the weekly recap in case you missed anything last week on the blog:
- Tuesday I reviewed The Madman's Daughter by Megan Shepard
- Wednesday I reviewed Scarlet (The Lunar Chronicles #2) by Marissa Meyers
- Friday I reviewed Love and Other Perishable Items by Laura Buzo.
This week on the blog you can expect to see reviews of The Archived by Victoria Schwab, Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill, and Wallbanger by Alice Clayton. I will also announce the winners of My One Year Blogoversary Giveaway and The Bad Boy Rehab Hop.
Hope everyone has a fabulous week:)

I really enjoyed Dare You To, Heather, so I'm sure you'll like it too, being a fan of contemporary romance! :) I wasn't a big fan of Unearthly or Grave Mercy, hence the reason I don't plan on continuing either series, but I hope you find the sequels to be satisfactory! :D
ReplyDeleteYes, I really did sigh that much....
ReplyDeleteYay for Unearthly!! Glad you love it as much as I do.I'm so excited -- only two days until Boundless!!
I received Dare You To this week too. I am super excited about it. Looks like you have a lot of good books to be excited about.
ReplyDeleteHappy reading.Jenn @ blog about books

Well I've read the first two Hallowed books, and have the novella waiting on my nook for me. But everything else on your post is a must read for me.
ReplyDeleteOh epic book week! I'm hoping Dark Triumph is at ALA. If not I will definitely have to request it cause I NEED it!
ReplyDeleteI really like the Unearthly series and I'm normally not big on angel books. Glad you're loving them!
You've got some amazing books there! Happy Reading.
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so glad you've been reading the Unearthly books--I'm SO nervous about reading Boundless, I'm avoiding everything about it until I do (thought Lauren's desire to talk about it may ware me down and have me buying it asap). Also insanely jealous of Dark Triumph. I cannot wait for that book, I just know it's going to be every bit as good as Grave Mercy.
ReplyDeleteI am still giddy over receiving Dark Triumph..LOL Grave Mercy was my fav YA read last year and I look forward to your tour stop of None of the Regular Rules. I love Hand and cannot wait for Boundless this week! The Sunday Post
ReplyDeleteThis week sounds great. Great haul. Can't wait for Dark Triumph... Loved Grave Mercy. Happy reading.

What a great book week you had. I loved Pushing the Limits and am going right to Netgalley to request its follow up! I wasnt a huge Grave Mercy fan, I should say I havent read it and am uncertain as to whether Ill like it or not. What do you think? Did you like it a lot? I have yet to read any of the Unearthly Series either.
ReplyDeleteI am new follower to your blog :) I will der be back to check out your future posts.
Have a great rest of the weekend and start of the week!
What's on Bella's Shelf?
What a great Haul! I have to cave and read Pushing the Limits so I can read Dare You To. I hope you enjoy all your books!
ReplyDeleteMY SUNDAY POST
I'm dying to read Dark Triumph too, but I guess I'll have to settle for your review in the meantime, Heather! :)) Looking forward to it! Enjoy all your reads, darling! :)
ReplyDeleteI really really want DARK TRIUMPH. I can't wait to hear how you like it. So it was never listed on Netgallery? I'm still confused about the 'requesting widgets' thing. But that is a topic for another day. I will just wait my turn to read this. I'm also excited about DARE YOU TO. GREAT LIST this week.
