WOW. Has it really been 1 year already? I'll be brief here and get through a bit of the gushy, lovey stuff then move on to the good stuff...a really cool giveaway that I hope you will like:)
So, I first entertained the idea of blogging back in the fall of 2011. I was already following a few blogs, ones that I had stumbled upon after looking for some book reviews. I went back and forth on whether I wanted to try my hand at it and finally decided to give it a go on January 2, 2012. And my experience, like most who give this book blogging thing a try, has been amazing. The incredibly generous community of people I have met is the thing that has meant the most to me. It totally balances out all the frustrating technical aspects, the trial and error, and the lofty goal of trying to balance blogging, reading and reviewing with everything else in my life.
And I've learned a few things along the way. First off, I have limitations. I'll probably never be a blogger that posts daily. If I get in three or four posts a week, I am happy. And sometimes I gotta take a week off here and there. Too much stuff starts happening and I need a brief respite to catch my breath. Next, I'm not a speedy reviewer. I would love to churn out two or three reviews at a time but it's just not me. I like to take my time with what I write, I guess I spent too many years in college trying to write that perfect paper. And as much as I love to read really analytical and, pardon the term, high-minded reviews, that's really not my style of writing. I tend to go more emotional. And that's okay too. I guess I have finally found what everyone calls your "voice." I am pretty happy with my own individual style when it comes to writing and reviewing.
But all of that feels secondary when it comes to the friendships I have made and the cool people I have met over the last year. I am so thankful for every person who has taken the time to stop by and comment or say "hey". And there are some fellow bloggers that have really enriched my blogging experience that I would like to say a big THANK YOU to:
(In no particular order)
Lauren, Asheley, Jen, Ashley R., Candace, Leanna, Karina, Keertana, Christina, Heidi, Karen, Lauren R., Kimba, Heidi, Wendy, Amanda, Misty, Jillyn, Kit, Nicola, and all the others I have failed to mention.
You guys have made this past year so much fun, so thank you, thank you, thank you:)
