What I'll Be Reading this Autumn (Top Ten Tuesday)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke and the Bookish

Leaves are falling all around,
It's time I was on my way.
Thanks to you, I'm much obliged
For such a pleasant stay.
But now it's time for me to go,
The autumn moon lights my way

Yeah, I just quoted a Led Zeppelin song. But whenever I hear the word autumn I always think of those lyrics. Anywhoo, my autumn TBR list is vast, people. VAST. But here are ten eleven highlights, in no particular order:

1. Out of the Easy by Ruta Septys
It doesn't release until February 13, 2013 but an ARC from ATWTours is on it's way!

Why? Well to put it bluntly: Prostitutes and the Big Easy. Yeah, it may sound seedy but those two things will always grab my attention in a book. Plus the author is, like, beloved among bloggers.

2 Eternally Yours (Immortal Beloved, Bk. #3) by Cate Tiernan
November 6, 2012

Why? This is the final installment in the series (read my review of book #2, Immortal Darkness HERE), a series that I think doesn't get near the love it deserves. The MC Nastasya is hands down one of my favorite female voices in YA lit today.

3.The Crown of Embers (Fire and Thorns #2) by Rae Carson
September 18, 2012

Why? I loved The Girl of Fire and Thorns (check out my review HERE) and the way the book ended has left everything wide open for protagonist Elisa. I cannot wait to be transported back to her world.

4. The Kingmakers (Vampire Empire #3) by Clay Griffith & Susan Griffith
September 4, 2012

Why? Again, the finale to the Vampire Empire series. I really have enjoyed this urban fantasy series that has tons of action and romance, sprinkled with awesome steampunkery and some really bad, nasty vampires:)

5. Chasing the Skip by Janci Patterson
October 6, 2012

Why? It's got a teenage girl bounty hunter who falls for her...bounty (?) "Skip", then.  I am feeling Bonnie and Clyde vibes here which ROCKS!

6. Days of Blood and Starlight (Smoke and Bone #2)
by Laini Taylor
November 6, 2012

Why? Come on. Who isn't waiting to read this one? I'd consider selling my firstborn for an ARC. Just kidding. Kind of.
Check out my review of Daughter of Smoke and Bone HERE.

7. Rebel Heart (Dust Lands #2) by Moira Young
October 30, 2012

Why? I LOVED Blood Red Road's Saba, and Jack. Who would have thought I'd get so attached to an Ellie Mae Clampitt-talking heroine living in a warped setting reminiscent of the Old West and The Road Warrior? But I did, and I can't wait to read more.

8. Crewel by Gennifer Albin
October 16, 2012

Why? I LOVE the unique premise of this book, weaving time with matter?? Oh. Heck. Yeah.

9. Jepp Who Defied the Stars by Katherine Marsh
October 9, 2012

Why? You guys this is historical fantasy and centers around Jepp, a court dwarf. You know, like this little guy:

Witness me jumping at the chance
to add some fine art to my blog:)

I really think this book is going to be a winner and I am so eager to read it. Has anyone read this yet? I'd love to hear what you thought of it:)

10. The Diviners by Libba Bray
September 18, 2012

Why? Spiritualism and speakeasies. That's as alluring as hookers and New Orleans :)

11. Lovely Dark and Deep by Amy McNamara
November 13, 2012

Why?  I think I would read this for the title alone. LOVE it. Sampling Robert Frost's poetry will always grab my attention. But the story looks very cool as well and hello! It's also New Adult:)

There are some of my most anticipated reads this autumn. What about you? Did any of these make your list too? Link me up in the comments so I can check out your TBR list:)

  6. Yep, I have a bunch of these on my list. I requested an e-ARC of Out of the Easy (still waiting to hear -- wah!). Very excited for days of Blood and Starlight. I also really enjoyed Girl of Fire and Thorns, so I'm dying for that one. And I have the Diviners on my stack. It is pretty fat...

    1. Check ATWTours, Jen. The tour is closed but it's still circulating so you could ask to be added on. Doesn't release until next year so there is plenty of time:)

  8. You're right. If I had a first born they would be in danger now in regards to Days of Blood and Starlight. Luckily I don't so I'm safe and so are they. LOL. Crown of Embers sounds so good too. Tons of amazing fantasy releases this fall, no idea how I'll manage to read them all. Happy reading!

  11. I love the sound of LOVELY, DARK, & DEEP! That one was not on my radar, so thank you. :) We have a lot of the same books on our fall TBR list, which is not a big surprise, hah. I'm especially looking forward to starting OUT OF THE EASY soon...it's so hard to ignore the lovely spring releases even though I know I technically SHOULD.

    1. Is that not the most gorgeous title name? It's a wonder it has been used before! Can't wait to hear your thoughts on Out of the Easy, Wendy!

  12. I agree with Wendy, the title alone of Lovely Dark and Deep is gorgeous and very evocative. I'll definitely be adding that one. Chasing the Skip also sounds like a lot of fun (why haven't I heard of half of these? What is wrong with me?). I have not yet read Girl of Fire and Thorns, but I keep hearing such wonderful things about that. So I plan on reading that and Crown of Embers when it comes out. And enjoyed Blood Red Road as well. Can't wait to find out where Saba is headed next.

I need to get my BRR review written so I can review both it and Rebel Heart back to back!
