The Raven Boys Trailer by Maggie Steifvater

You guys know how much I adore Maggie Stiefvater, right? You can read my review of The Scorpio Races to witness my gushing. So when I heard about Steifvater's new book, The Raven Boys, I was totally amped. Just last week Steifvater released the trailer for The Raven Boys,  and like The Scorpio Races and her other books, all of the artwork AND music is drawn and composed by the author herself. I'm telling you, this is one talented individual.

Now as I mentioned in my review of The Scorpio Races,  I have a love/ hate relationship with book trailers. Mostly hate. But Maggie's aren't just trailers. They are works of art, and I LOVE them.

So here it is, the trailer for the upcoming release The Raven Boys. Hope you enjoy it:)

I had to watch it a couple of times to fully appreciate it, but I really like it. As with all her trailers, the music is haunting and such a perfect accompaniment to the artwork.

And speaking of the music, Maggie also posted a very cool "Behind the Music" on her blog where she totally rocks that harp:) Inside joke. Check out the video here, it's really very cool and you guys, stuff like this just makes me even more excited for the September release of The Raven Boys!

What do you think of the video and did you watch the making of the music video? Are you excited for The Raven Boys? Drop me a comment and let me know your thoughts!

Here are links to Stiefvater's other trailers, my favorites are The Scorpio Races and Ballad:)

The Scorpio Races
Shiver
Linger

  1. That was... interesting. I have a copy of The Raven Boys ARC that I'll be starting soon, but this trailer really doesn't make me want to read it any more than I already do?... I dunno. it's weird. I love artistic animation, but the voice acting sort of killed it for me. :X

    1. yeah, the talking is a little odd, I prefer her trailers that just have the music background. But I'm still very excited to read the book, I'm envious you have a copy! I hope you enjoy it:)

  3. Ahhhh!!! I LOVE it, I'm so pumped up for this book right now. You're right, it is a complete work of art and the ending just killed me. I can't wait.

Also I see that you're planning to read The Age of Miracles next! I've just read the first three chapters so far and it's lovely, can't wait to hear your thoughts!

    1. Me too! Did you get lucky and snag a copy at BEA?

I finished The Age of Miracles. It was...not what I was expecting. I thought the writing was lovely, but the story pretty bleak. What did you think Heidi?
