In My Mailbox (9)

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren.
I took the last week off to catch up on some spring cleaning and yard work. It rained but I got quite a bit done. And I continued to read and even managed to squeeze in a trip to my library to pick up some books I had requested earlier this month.

Paperback Swap delivered two books to me and I received my first book from The Debut Author Challenge Tour (Thanks to Kristi, Lisa, Tara, and Ginger:)

From the DAC Tour:
Storybound by Marissa Burt

From Paperback Swap:

Academy 7 by Anne Osterlund
Virals by Kathy Reichs

From my ever rockin' local library:

The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss
The Death Cure by James Dashner

The Aviary by Kathleen O'Dell
Shattered Souls by Mary Lindsey

My Name is Mina by David Almond
So my library trip was awesome, no? I've been wanting to read the last in book in the amazing Maze Runner trilogy (especially when news of a prequel lit up the blogosphere last week!) And everyone raves about The Name of the Wind. It almost broke my arm lugging it out to my car (662 whopping pages people!) but I am excited to see what all the fuss is about! And I had no idea there was a prequel to David Almond's memorable Skellig, which I read and loved last year. So finding My Name is Mina was an unexpected and just plain awesome surprise.

Lots to read! What about you? What did you get in your mailbox?

  1. I have to read Shattered Souls ... it looks fantastic! I'm not sure if I could devote myself to 600+ pages just right now - way too many books in my pile to begin with!

Awesome books - happy reading. :)

  6. Oh, Virals! I'm super interested in reading that one. I love Bones but I've never read any of her books.

I've got the first book in the Maze Runner series but I haven't had the chance to read it yet. I'm really excited, tho!

    1. I love Bones too! I think I started watching strictly for a David Boreanz fix(I miss Buffy and Angel so!)and ended up just loving the show. I've never read any Kathy Reichs' either, so I'll let you know how it is once I get started:)

  7. AAH!!!! The Name of the Wind. That is all.

Sure, there are other great ones here, but Patrick Rothfuss trumps them all. I am reading it now and SO IN LOVE with this story. I can't even begin to tell you.

I also want to read The Aviary and Virals, but I can't stop clapping my hands that you grabbed the Rothfuss.
